HOMEOPATHY

Tomomi Miyakawa
BSc (Hons) Homeopathy & Biological Sciences.
Member of Society of Homeopath (RSHom), Complementary Therapist Association(CThA) ITEC

What is homeopathy?

For over 200 years, Homeopathy has evolved as a form of medicine based on empiricism. Although it was crystallised by Dr. Samuel Hahnemann in 1796, its principles stretch back to the thinking of Hippocrates and Paracelsus.

Its main principle “Like cures like” is based on the principle that there is a direct relationship between the symptoms that you experience and the homeopathic medicine (remedy) prescribed.

There are over 2000 Homeopathic remedies and each one is unique, just like the way you experience your symptoms and the way you are as an individual. In a homeopathic consultation, the remedy that is most similar to you and your symptoms will be chosen in order to stimulate your innate healing ability in the best way possible.

What may be benefited?

Homeopathy may benefit many conditions including:

  • Skin conditions
  • Allergies and other hypersensitive disorder
  • Menstrual/Hormonal problems
  • Mental & emotional problems
  • Immune system disorder
  • Children’s behavioural difficulties
  • Complaints during pregnancy
  • Problems with conception

As homeopathy us a safe form of medicine and it has no side effects it is suitable during pregnancy as well as for breast feeding mothers and babies.

About consultation/ duration

The consultation consists of simply talking with the homeopath in order to obtain all the information necessary for choosing the right remedy for you. This will include your past and current medical history as well as your general well being. After the consultation, you will receive a homeopathic remedy in the form most suitable to you (tablets, liquid, or powder). And then you will be asked to return for a follow up assessment after 4 to 6 weeks. However, if necessary, telephone consultation and support is available in between the appointments.

Information will be treated in the strictest confidence in accordance with the code of ethics established by the Society of Homeopaths (www.homeopathy-soh.org).

The first consultation will last up to 1h 30m and up to 1h for the follow up consultations.

Holistic massage

Over the centuries and across the world, the effect of touch has proved effective in curing ailments in the body. Employing a variety of techniques, holistic massage relaxes muscles and stimulates the nervous and lymphatic system. This releases the oxygen in the blood and helps the body eliminate toxins and metabolic waste. Massage can help the body heal itself, reduce recovery time after an injury, boost the immune system and increase vitality.

In addition to medical benefits, holistic massage improves general health and wellbeing by relaxing the whole body and mind.

Benefits

The treatment is tailored to your individual needs. It may benefit many conditions and ailments including:

  • Physical discomfort/pain
  • Stress relief
  • Head/neck/shoulder stiffness & pain
  • Back pain
  • Injury recovery
  • Migraine & Headache, Insomnia…
  • and improving general health and wellbeing

Of course you do not need to have particular symptoms or conditions. You can simply relax and have a moment to yourself.

Treatment/duration

Each treatment session starts with a small consultation to assess what area needs to be focused on, as well as identify any possible contraindications. This is important to ensure the session is safe and effective.

After the consultation, you will receive the treatment most suitable to your needs.

We offer 60 or 90 minutes session. For the first appointment, it is recommended to book for 90 minutes to allow time for the initial consultation.

Therapy is available in English or in Japanese
